This course comes with two manuals. Part One has 140 pages, and Part Two has 130 pages.
The
reason there are so many pages is because of the amount of screen
shots. Each page has a screen shot demonstrating the action; or no
more than 3 mouse moves, e.g. highlight this, right click and the
select "x" from the menu. This really helps first time computer users
get into the flow without getting frustrated and having to ring friends
or family for instructions.
Part One covers
- Configuring Outlook Express with your email account settings;
- How to compose and send an email message;
- How to enter addresses into the address book;
- Correct use of CC and BCC;
- How to forward email and email a group of people.
Part Two covers
- Saving File Attachments;
- Printing File Attachments;
- Sending File Attachments and
- Customising Outlook Express.
The sections on File Attachments
teach the end user how to recognise file attachments by their icons and
file extensions, and which programs open them. This mainly refers to
the most common attachments such as photos, Microsoft Word, Excel and
PowerPoint Documents; and Adobe Acrobat Reader files.
The chapter on Printing assumes the end user has not used a computer printer before
and explains things like Portrait and Landscape page orientations,
Print Options, Print Quality and Paper Quality, and adjusting printer
settings for photographic paper etc.
The
section on Customising Outlook Express covers things like creating
folders, changing the default font, saving emails to My Documents and
the difference between plain text and HTML email.
